Preparation for First Flight

     

Exercises for achieving peak performance: verbalizing your strengths, practicing relaxation and breathing, and guided imagery of the upcoming flight.

 

First Flight, First Group (Pairs A, B, C)

     

First group flies in pairs with their flight facilitators.  Each participant experiences 30 minutes as pilot in command and 30 minutes participating from the back seat.  In-airplane exercises include checklist, taxi, takeoff, instrument scan, three-axes/control surfaces, climb, descend, straight and level, left and right turn, slow flight, and instrument scan.

 

Facilitated Discussion of Metaphors, Second Group (Pairs D, E, F)

Second group participates in a facilitated discussion mapping the Day One metaphors to work/career/school.  The metaphors include: checklist, three axes, thrust and drag, throttle/slow flight.
